A number of publishers and platforms are giving temporary free access (here is a list courtesy of the Frankfurt University Library) to their publications and resources to support teachers, researchers, and learners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This list is continually being added to, so it's worth checking from time to time for new publishers.
This includes 1302 African-published books made freely available by the African Books Collective! available via Project MUSE.
Also, don't forget the list of 230 free Africa related e-journals courtesy of the library of the African Studies Centre Leiden.
