Series on online resources in African Studies
The Global Africa project aims to create and permanently establish a journal of excellence anchored on the African continent. This journal meets international scientific criteria and standards, is pluridisciplinary and belongs to the humanities and social sciences.
The journal will be published open access and multilingual (regular translations into French and English as well as selected translations into Arabic and Swahili) in order to make them accessible to the largest possible number of people.
Around this publication, measures to support research and scientific production will be implemented, such as workshops for early career scholars, mentoring, training in the areas of scholarly writing and publishing, as well as the organisation of and participation in international conferences.
The Global Africa project is supported by a consortium of four institutions: the University of Gaston Berger (UGB, the lead organisation), the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD, France), the Laboratoire d’études et de recherche sur les dynamiques sociales et le développement local (LASDEL, Benin and Niger) and the Université internationale de Rabat (UIR, Morocco), as well as nine other partners.
The aim of this project is to dynamise the research ecosystem in Africa by developing a scientific journal of international quality, while helping to support the capacity for the production, publication and valorisation of knowledge and scientific debates from the African continent.
