Funding institutions increasingly require scientists to make their research data accessible and reusable in research data repositories. However, the management of research data in African studies is just in its beginnings, and in part accompanied by uncertainties about how it should be implemented. Not least, in African studies, research data are particularly sensitive with regard to research ethics.
In view of the currently emerging National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) in Germany, which will also be accompanied by future guidelines by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for financing research projects at universities and research institutions, the African Studies Information Centre (FID) would like to conduct a survey in the research community on their needs, problems and the perspectives of research data management. Please support us in our efforts, and take a moment to fill out our survey (in German).
