This video was created in a workshop on Open Access with students at the Department of Information Science at Potsdam University of Applied Sciences.
The video gives an overview of the history of scholarly publishing and the origins of the Open Access movement. The “golden” and the “green” path are presented as strategies for open access publishing. The advantages and disadvantages of Open Access are discussed, especially with regard to Article Processing Charges.
